Poltergeist 03:30
Poltergeist, share your life with me Fear no lie, you'll hypnotize me We can sit in my room and listen to tunes, You'll turn into my world, you'll become my first Poltergeist, (I'll) listen to you! You know so much more things, but see, I am no fool And when the telephone rings, will you pick it up? 'Cause while it does, I'll be here in the lineup

And the days, they drag on until our mother calls The days, oh the days until I saw your birth For the low, low price of eternity I will learn learn to fight and make sure they bleed His name is Artemis His name is Artemis His name is Artemis Fools, they think that they can see him now Fools, he'll turn you into a haunted stag Alas, they'll find no luck You'll turn them into mush His name is Artemis His name is Artemis His name is Artemis Find me a tune to sing Follow the moon in peace Find me a tune to sing Follow the moon in peace His name is Artemis His name is Artemis His name is Artemis

Gloria 03:45
Gloria, I know you know my name Gloria, I think you're pretty You glow with such a pure light You boast some mighty satellites And when the other stars look to you Some fill with envy, others say, "ooh!" And those that think they're better know they're wrong, Because they stutter with their words! Gloria, I know you know my name Gloria, why do you shy away? As you blink past the horizon, I'll wait another night until you come back And when the other stars look to you Some fill with envy, others say, "ooh!" And those that think they're better know they're wrong, Because they stutter with their words! Gloria, I love you Yeah, I really, really do ...Well... And when the other stars look to you Some fill with envy, others say, "ooh!" And those that think they're better know they're wrong, Because they stutter with their words!

Charlotte Ashville Is the name of a girl Who came to my town And burned all my houses down Fear not stranger, No people were in danger For in my town, I am the only one In the fight, It was terrible and frightening And I think I mighta' got Hit by lightning once When it was over, There was a field of clovers That the flames refused To get any closer to I mighta' lost my life that day I was just lucky to get away And when the silence set so softly, Knew I was less than lucky She came back for revenge In the name of the dead because It turned out that she wasn't too Human after all I saw my fall, 'cause she was On the wall I'd been Building up for the Past few days or so When she came 'round To the field of the town The clovers disappeared And she left me quietly Soon I realized What a terrible crime I'd done To her mind and She'd done all her time And so ran all across the world, I ended up here, so I'm good Well I was just lucky to land on top, Charlotte Ashville's been stopped

Blooming 02:01
When you rose up, in the mornings And I could see the rain on your pedals Foolishly, I thought I could save you Wasn't quite right, now I'm up all night Sinners sin, and mourners mourn, And I thought I could touch your thorns Missing your beauty, now I'm torn Pricked my thumb, now I'm feeling dumb Flowers are in bloom when you leave your room There's no rose, without a thorn So I'll wait for you to say something more, Stood right there in a silent stare Bees in tune, your daunting gloom But the nectar's gone, and I'm all alone, What to do now when we've fallen out? Flowers are in doom when you leave your room
6.
Here's to hope And a day's Worth of work, Spent away And I know The oranges don't Grow for a month Small, for today, But I'll wait For the oranges to grow and bloom Into the grove it was Meant to be, just like you and me Why can't we be like the people on TV? And I know why Deep down inside I'm afraid to admit it But I know it's right We were there, but all alone Separated by a screen on the phone
7.
Evergreen 04:33
I can never say your name I can't play your little games I'm too busy, cleaning up the toys All their cotton cobwebs drop, I've been seeing, but not the top Fill me with dread, fill me with dread And the morning always comes You retreat into your little home Boys will be boys, boys will be boys I'll touch them with my eyes But I can't see their inner lies Please take me there, please take me there Blood is almost as sweet As the daydreams I might dream Cold like metal, steaming like coal It seems I'm foaming at the mouth Am I insane or just a man? I can't tell, they're both the same Without a name Whenever you play with me, You make me see things I don't see They're all red, they're all red Flourish and sprout as spring comes, I'll be waiting be the tree stump That used to be a flower, and you, a bee

The Sirens 03:15
I'm not afraid to end, I'm only afraid of the canaries That close their eyes and fade away with Gaping arteries and broken bones I wish I could've kept them in their cages But they flew away and never returned home (The stairs, they wind up They scream, I'll be right down Just wait for the sirens They'll be here anytime now) I saw you standing in the black lilies They were gnawing at your ankles, They sucking down your tongue I stood in front of you, unable to do Anything, anything at all (The stairs, they wind up They scream, I'll be right down Just wait for the sirens They'll be here anytime now The stairs, they wind up I scream, spiraling down Just wait for the sirens They'll never ever come now Now)

Rain Sample 04:01
Waking up At 4:30 in the afternoon I hope they're gone Always just wanted to be alone And now I'm here, at my wake I hope they come back anyway And now you know me Well enough to see it on my face And now you see right through me Goddamn, I wish you were replaced Sometimes Even though you're on my side, I'll still fight you, despite you Being right "You know I can't take you seriously" Fell asleep At the same time this time of day In the sun's wake I'll be running away And I know, I know, I know Okay Okay I lied "Again? (oh yeah) again." Is it true? Could I be blue? Am I okay? I'll find out tomorrow And that's that Leave it alone I'll just keep moving on in my life Everything all right in my head, what is the time? I'm sick of feeling desolate in a room full of people Must get lost in my thoughts often, Didn't realize that I'd get so rotten And then I wander off... And sometimes I think about flowers, Or the sound of rain

"...because, it's sorta like daydreaming: you can't really look forward into the future because it's a mystery, but at the same time-"

about

Hibiscus is the debut album by the band Egress, and it's sound is mostly centered around lofi rock, indie, and alternative.

Hibiscus was born of a love of the music made by countless artists and musicians, and hopefully someone loves it too.

This is the first full-length album from Egress.

A letter addressed to whoever reads it:

Where to even begin.
I'm not good at writing descriptions for anything I make, but I feel that this is necessary considering how much time, effort, and energy that went into this album. This project means a lot to not only myself, but to everyone involved in its creation.
Despite there being only four people credited for the creation of this album, there have been so many more people that have given us support, wisdom, guidance, and encouragement over the 4 years that we have been a band together. We give you the greatest thanks we can give. We hope it was worth the wait!
